Lovely museum. Beautiful art. Each gallery area and section is clean, the art is well explained. However, whoever designed the map was not qualified. The map is very difficult to navigate. Each section is not clearly marked on the walls or maps. There are several floors and subfloors so anyone with mobility issues will need to use the elevators.

A wonderful collection of art from a vast area of the world from the middle east right across to the eastern edges of China. Fabulous ceramics, scrolls, sculpture, metalwork and jewellery from hundreds of cultures and thousands of years of human civilisation.

One of the lesser known - and therefore quieter - museums in Washington there is plenty of space and time to really inspect and enjoy the works on display.

There are guided tours which are certainly worth joining. Everything is free which is extraordinary!

Came here for the Happy Rainbow Hell exhibit and it did NOT disappoint. Highly recommend. We wandered the rest of the museum as well. Really nice collection and I appreciate the depth of the information provided on the placards near each piece.

We came here in July 2023 with minimal expectations. It wasn't too busy but it was way cooler than I expected. Our son loves Egyptian things and there were actually a few Egyptian pieces here.

There were some awesome Chinese and Japanese and Indian pieces too. This place is free and is definitely worth a stop if you're in Washington.

5/5.

Very beautiful museum and inspiring displays of Asian art and artifacts. The gift store had a wide range of authentic Asian gods including clothing and jewelry. It was a lovely visit!
